Fraud: Woman, 72, Docked Over N4.7m Land Deal

Two people, Julianah Titilope Raimi, 72, and Rasheed Adigun have been arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan, Oyo State over alleged N 4.7 million fraud. The accused, according to charge sheet number MI/750/C2015, were said to have obtained the money by pretext. The accused were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy to commit felony The Officer-in-Charge, Legal, state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Iyaganku, DSP Fawole O. Bukola in the charge sheet said that the accused – and others now at large – in November 2012 at Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, conspired to commit felony, thereby committing an offence contrary and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol 11 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000. Count two reads: “That you, Julianah Titilope Raimi, Rasheed Adigun, on the same date , time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did unlawfully obtain the sum of N4,720,000 from one Olusekun Majekayomi under the pretence that you have a plot of land at Total Garden, Ibadan which Oyo State government gave to you for sale which you know to be false and thereby committed and offence contrary to and punishable under Section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol 1 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000. “That you Julianah Titilope Raimi, Rasheed Adigun on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did steal N4,720,000 property of one Olusegun Majekayomi and thereby committed and offence contrary to Section 363 and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol 11, Laws of Oyo State, Nigeria 2000,” she said. When the case was mentioned on Friday, the accused pleaded not guilty and the case was adjourned till December 10 for hearing.
