Mother 'abandons newborn son' at London hospital

Police appeal for information after Anna Chudy leaves Northwick Park>hospital after giving birth to baby by caesarean section Police have appealed for information after a mother went missing from hospital, leaving her newborn son behind. Anna Chudy, 35, is believed to have left Northwick Park hospital in Harrow, north-west London, with a man on Friday morning. She arrived at the hospital at 10.30pm on Wednesday and gave birth to a healthy boy by caesarean section at around 3.40am on Thursday. At about 10.30am on Friday she left the hospital without her child, Scotland Yard said. Officers have released CCTV images of Chudy and the man, both seen leaving the hospital separately via the accident and emergency department. Chudy is described as white, possibly eastern European, of medium build, 5ft 4in tall, with bleached blond fine hair in a pony tail. The man is described as white, with short dark brown hair. He is tall with an athletic build and was wearing a black leather jacket with patches on the elbows, and dark trousers. DS Adrian Smith, of Brent CID, said: “This is a vulnerable woman who needs to be located as soon as possible so she can be reunited with her baby boy. We are not looking to trace her with the intention of pursuing any criminal matters against her. Our only concern is her safe return.
